As an experienced trainer, facilitator and coach, Doug believes firmly in the following tenets:

Create a positive, fun environment and people will learn and retain more and sales people will be glad they spent time with you.                            Enable sales professionals to learn from their peers without being the center of attention, and you will be viewed as a great facilitator.                Provide productive and real feedback, and sales professionals will respect, value and seek out your opinion.

Prior to launching his Sales Effectiveness consulting business, Doug led the Global Sales Effectiveness organization at Blackboard Inc., a global leader in the Education Technology sector. As the Sr. Director reporting directly to the Sr. Vice President of Global Sales Operations and Strategy, Doug oversaw the creation and implementation of a structured Sales Training & Development program serving the needs of over 450 sales professionals around the world. He led the Sales Enablement efforts at Blackboard as well, including Blackboard’s implementation of SAVO and Blackboard’s Client Reference program.

Before joining Blackboard, Mr. Ferreira spent 18 months at the world’s largest provider of temporary housing, Oakwood Worldwide. At Oakwood, Doug was a key leader in the complete transformation of Oakwood’s global sales force, rolling out its new sales methodology and coaching model, while creating a new sales training program to support the ongoing development of the sales team.

Doug “grew up” in sales, spending the first 14 years of his career selling training and related services at Productivity Point International, NETg and Gateway Computers. It was during his 9 year career at Gateway Computers that Doug made the switch from sales to sales training, building a sales training organization from the ground up.

A native Chicagoan, and graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaing, Doug currently resides with his wife and two children in south Orange County, CA
